Screencast-o-matic

Screencast-o-matic is a very cool website. Your desktop and or camera becomes a video and your microphone becomes the audio for you to create videos for FREE. It worked very well in creating the videos- it is so easy- and it saved to my computer easily. The only problem i had was then putting the video to youtube. So I tried to manual upload it to youtube and BAM! It worked. Please try it. and check out my youtube video.

QR codes: My Story

Well, this one was a bit of a mystery to me. Not having a smartphone put me at a bit of disadvantage for this one as well. To figure this out, the first thing I did was download the image. It was during this time that I saw its file name- qr_figureitout. I typed in "qr" into google and was able to read about it on wikipedia. After reading about it I knew what needed to be done.
At the conference, I made an observation. I was one of two individuals walking around with a regular cell phone. It was like I was back in junior high and missed out on a fabulous trend- Giga pets, pokemon, or more recently silly bandz. (I'm not sure if it is spelled with a "z" at the end, but all the kids and rappers seem to be showing plurality with a "z")
So, I got a smartphone! Got the QR decoding app, and figured it out. The link it sent me to was a very interesting blog. But, good luck convincing teachers and administrators that cell phones should not only be allowed- but used in class. I mean it- wish me luck!

Wordle of TIS Job Descriptions.. enjoy!

Hi, it is nice to meet you.

I am Joshua Ryan Blackburn. Josh to my friends. Mr. Blackburn to my students. Son to my Dad. I am a recent blogger (it is happening right now). I am going to be a TIS, technology integration specialist, at Worthington Elementary and Mckinley Elementary. I am currently 25 1/2 years old, which I am told is too young, but I am working on it.

Seriously, I am so happy to be working on this and starting this endeavor. I am so excited to be starting this journey and I plan on learning all that I can in order to help everyone I can. This is just the beginning, but I am so thankful for everyone who has helped me get here- and I will probably need you all again soon.
